God has called us to live a life of encounter. Encounter comes a result of wholeheartedness. The Lord tells us that if we seek Him we will find Him if we seek Him with all of our heart. To find Him is to encounter Him, and to encounter Him is to changed and to be transformed. It’s impossible to apprehend Jesus and not be different, every time. Jesus never leaves you neutral. He always causes holy upheaval in our hearts. It’s a gloriously exhilarating, and joyfully painful, and liberating experience to encounter Jesus. He calls us to live that way; to abide (remain) in Him. The beauty of the Lord is so shockingly fascinating and delightful it causes us to live in perpetual first love, which is always life altering. When we seek Him it’s His breathtaking beauty realm that we encounter and that creates all the upheaval. David’s desire and pursuit was to spend his life intentionally beholding the beauty of the Lord. I believe that when you choose to live a life of encounter the way David did, the beauty of the Lord that you behold in the secret place anoints you and you carry that beauty and it’s transforming affects into the public place. This is to truly abide in Him and His love.
