One Thing 7/21/14

Song 1:8 ¶ “If you yourself do not know,
Most beautiful among women,
Go forth on the trail of the flock
And pasture your young goats
By the tents of the shepherds.

Psa. 45:11 The king is enthralled by your beauty;
honor him, for he is your lord.

This is the first time Solomon (Jesus) speaks in the Song of Solomon. At this point in her new journey toward Lovesickness and Fulness, we have no record of her doing any extraordinary act of service on The Kings behalf, yet the first words that come out His mouth is declaring that she is “The Most Beautiful Among Women.” He loves us, not because of what we do for Him, but who we are before Him. There is nothing you and I can do to make Him adore us more, and there is nothing you can do to make Him adore you less. These are His first words and therefore they represent His first thoughts. Embrace this amazing reality; the first thing He thinks about when He is thinking about you; the thing that dominates His thoughts about you; is that you are beautiful. Not just beautiful, but The MOST BEAUTIFUL. The Accuser has convinced us that God primarily has thoughts of disappointment, frustration, or even disgust concerning us; but that is such a lie. Dare to believe what the scripture makes so clear; even when grieved over our sin He delights in you, and His first and primary thoughts are that nothing is as enthralling to Him as you are. That doesn’t mean that He always delights in our behavior, but even when our actions are horribly ugly, He is enthralled with the glory that is within us. That is why a life of unrepentant sin brings such sorrow to His heart. He sees someone with such splendor, and royalty wasting their life on dregs, when He longs to pour out a Kings favor on our lives.
Ezek. 16:13 “Thus you were adorned with gold and silver, and your dress was of fine linen, silk and embroidered cloth. You ate fine flour, honey and oil; so you were exceedingly beautiful and advanced to royalty.
Ezek. 16:14 “Then your fame went forth among the nations on account of your beauty, for it was perfect because of My splendor which I bestowed on you,” declares the Lord GOD.
Please come to grips with the incredible truth that when you, in those oft moments, think of Him, or are simply aware of His presence, He is pondering how amazing beautiful you are to Him. It’s unimaginable that you and I are so enthralling to Him, that our simple thought, and remembrance of Him, RAVISHES HIS HEART (S.S.4:9). Wow!! That is Lovesickness.
