Psalm 36:9 NASB, For with You is the fountain of life; In Your light we see light.
Abiding in his presence changes the way we see everything, because in His light everything becomes clear. In His presence we get to see as He sees, and seeing how he sees sets us free from all darkness.
Matthew 6:22 NASB
[22] “The eye is the lamp of the body; so then if your eye is clear, your whole body will be full of light.
In Christ we are privileged to abide in Him and to see all things through his eyes. When we do, we will respond from Him, instead of to the devil. Prayer is actually more than just looking to God; it is actually more of a call to look with Him.
Revelation 4:1-2 NASB
[1] … After these things I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven, and the first voice which I had heard, like the sound of a trumpet speaking with me, said,“ Come up here, and I will show you what must take place in the midst of these things.” [2] Immediately I was in a the Spirit; and behold, a throne was standing in heaven, and One sitting on the throne. …
In His light we see light, instead of only seeing the darkness and what the devil is doing. It is not really important what the devil is doing, but it is imperative to see from The Light, what The Light is up to. You and I are seated in the heavenly places in Christ, and in union with Jesus, who is light we are called to look from Him and be enlightened as to what he is doing, or about to do, and project that light into every situation in life.
