Galatians 2:20 NASB
[20] I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.
One of the most important questions a Christian can ever ask is, “How to get Jesus, who lives in us, to live His life through us.” The answer is very simple. It is not something that you “get,” instead, it is something that you have already got. It is already happening, and has been from the moment you got saved, even though you may not have been very conscious of it. If you are the branch to Him, who is the vine, then the life of the vine has been pushing into you, and out through you as fruit, from the beginning. Our surrender and faith does not get him to live through us, but simply allows us to get out of the way, and to confidently trust in his overwhelming adequacy for every situation. As it says in Proverbs 5:6, we are to simply “acknowledge Him,” trusting him in all of our ways. We can of course suppress the life of Christ being live through us in those areas where we are either in rebellion, or trying to do things our own strength, but even in those conditions there are certain areas of our life where Jesus is pushing through. Fullness is experienced when we simply come to the place where we realize that Jesus is trying to live his life through us already, and our job is to simply get out of the way in every area of life, and say yes to him, trusting him to do it through us in every situation. 1 Thessalonians 5:10 simply says, “Faithful is He who called you, who also will do it.”
