Daniel 7:18 NASB
But the saints of the Highest One will receive the kingdom and possess the kingdom forever, for all ages to come.’
Hebrews 12:28 NASB
Therefore, since we receive a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us show gratitude, by which we may offer to God an acceptable service with reverence and awe;
Matthew 4:17,23-24 NASB
From that time Jesus began to preach and say, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” [23] Jesus was going throughout all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every kind of disease and every kind of sickness among the people. [24] The news about Him spread throughout all Syria; and they brought to Him all who were ill, those suffering with various diseases and pains, demoniacs, epileptics, paralytics; and He healed them.
Matthew 9:35 NASB
Jesus was going through all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every kind of disease and every kind of sickness.
Luke 4:43 NASB
But He said to them, “I must preach the kingdom of God to the other cities also, for I was sent for this purpose.”
Matthew 9:36-38 NASB
Seeing the people, He felt compassion for them, because they were distressed and dispirited like sheep without a shepherd. [37] Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. [38] Therefore beseech the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest.”
Matthew 10:1,5-6,8 NASB
Jesus summoned His twelve disciples and gave them authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal every kind of disease and every kind of sickness. [5] These twelve Jesus sent out after instructing them: “Do not go in the way of the Gentiles, and do not enter any city of the Samaritans; [6] but rather go to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. [8] Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons. Freely you received, freely give.
I know that these are a lot of verses to list, but there is something really important that I want to share with you and I felt like listing all of these verses was significant to be able to communicate the word that God has put in my heart. Let me start by again defining what I believe revival is. I believe that revival is the life of Christ lived in the context of the kingdom of heaven. When Jesus is simply being Himself, and manifesting His reign, revival is taking place. Nothing can be more powerful or supernatural than the life of Jesus revealing the kingdom of heaven. The verses that are most important to me that I have listed are the first two from Daniel, and from Hebrews. There is a little word in both that Old Testament passage and in the New Testament passage that is very significant and it is the word “receive.” Both the Hebrew word in Daniel 7 and the Greek word in Hebrews 12 is translated perfectly as the word to “receive.” What is the big deal about that you might ask? The big deal is that Jesus, as well as John the Baptist announced that the kingdom of heaven was here, and if the kingdom of heaven is actually already at hand and revival is the manifestation of the Kingdom of Heaven, then revival is not something we are begging God to bring; instead, it is simply something we are to receive. Look at some of the characteristics of the kingdom of heaven in the other verses that I have listed. The signs and wonders of healings, and people being set free from every kind of disease, demonicoppression and every kind of sickness is the normal stuff of this supernatural kingdom being received and manifested in our midst. We don’t have to beg God to bring heaven to earth; He already has! We don’t have to beg God to have more of Christ; we are already in Christ and carry his fullness. At our new birth we were already positioned to be the body through which Christ himself could continue to live his life and we were born into His kingdom which we simply have to receive instead of asking for. Both of those words “receive” can also be translated “to take.” The reason I wanted to share that with you is because I don’t want you to be confused and think that receiving is asking for something that you don’t have. The idea is taking something and receiving it that already exists; that is already yours; it just simply needs to be taken and received. We don’t need to plead with God for some kind of breakthrough so that we can move in signs and wonders. Being in Christ, and being born into his kingdom, we simply need to keep receiving it in childlike faith, bringing its reality to those around us. Why not today just simply acknowledge the kingdom of heaven and receive it, expecting signs and wonders to take place. You are in Christ seated in heavenly places, therefore you are already under the open heaven that many are crying out for. Jesus died, and rose again that you might live under an open heaven, so just received that reality and take it out for us spin today.
