We were baptized into Christ, not the other way around. The word baptize means “to dip” or “immerse.” We have been immersed into Christ. Romans 6:10 – 11 says, “For the death that he died, he died to sin once and for all; but the life that he lives, he lives to God. Even so consider yourself bedecked sin, but living to God in Christ Jesus.” Because we have been immersed into the life of Jesus, his death to sin is our death to sin, and his walk with God is now our walk with God. Instead of trying your best to walk with God, you have been included into Jesus’ spiritual life. Aren’t you tired of trying to get it right only to fail again and again? If it’s true that we have been plunged into his spirituality, then our part is to simply abide in him, allowing him to demonstrate his walk with God through us. Receiving step-by-step the gift of Jesus living His life through us is God’s grace to us. Jesus is the grace of God, and everything God wants to do on our behalf is embodied in Jesus Christ.
