For He, Himself is our peace…
If it is true that Christ is our life; if it is true that our new real self is hidden with Christ in God, then when facing any situation, small or big, it is not a matter of whether you have peace about it or not, but does Jesus have peace about it. The new you is hidden in Christ as if now you are living your life in this wonderful bubble which is the life of Jesus. Nothing can touch you unless it goes through Him. You are hidden away and therefore protected from having to face anything on your own. Jesus is our life, and therefore the only issue that matters is if He is at peace. That’s why the peace we experience as Christians passes all understanding because it has nothing to do with how we evaluate any situation. Instead, it has everything to do with how He evaluates every situation and whether He believes that He is big enough for it. It is so important that you and I don’t mentally or emotionally step out of that hidden place in Christ and try to evaluate and handle situations on our own. Whatever it is that you might be facing, it is just another one of the “all things” that He is more than big enough for. Our job is to just abide in Him and rest in His peaceful confidence in His own plan and adequacy.
