2 Cor. 12:7, Because of the surpassing greatness of the revelations, for this reason, to keep me from exalting myself, there was given me a thorn in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to torment me—to keep me from exalting myself! 8 Concerning this I implored the Lord three times that it might leave me. 9 And He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.” Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me. 10 Therefore I am well content with weaknesses, with insults, with distresses, with persecutions, with difficulties, for Christ’s sake; for when I am weak, then I am strong.
God does not want to remove your weakness; He wants to fill them with His ability. That word “power” is literally the word “ability.” The Greek word is “dunamis” which we get the English word dynamite from, but literally translated it means “ability.” Of course, in the New Testament is refers to the supernatural ability of God. It is time you stop hating yourself for your imperfections and weaknesses, and starting boasting, as a matter of faith, that your weaknesses are for Christ’s sake. In other words, your weakness provide the platform for His sufficient grace, and ability to be demonstrated in and through your life. The Christian life is meant to be a supernatural life, and your weakness, distresses, difficulties, are the needed ingredient for the miraculous, power of Jesus to be perfected in you. Maybe instead of complaining, and begging God to change everything, we should be celebrating these opportunities to experience the “much more,” of Jesus, as He exchanges His strength for my weakness, because when you are we then you are supernaturally strong.
