In John chapter 4 we find the Samaritan woman just living another day like every other day, full of fear, guilt, and shame. Her daily routine involved every day going to the well at noon to draw water for her and her household. As far as she knew, there was nothing special about this day, but of course she did not know that Jesus was waiting for her with everything she would ever need, and had ever longed for. It is fascinating to me that she did not show up first and then Jesus. Instead, Jesus was there with everything, (as her everything) waiting on her. Her encounter that day with the Christ who is our all and all changed her life forever.
There’s a great truth to be found here that I want you to see. It could change your life forever. The truth is this; we spend so much of our time waiting on God to do something in our life, pleading and begging; when the whole time time He is already there, waiting on you to simply come and receive all that He is for all that you need. Whatever it is that you need, that is within the will of God, He already is and has for you, and He is simply waiting for you today to come to Him and receive by faith. Dramatic moments in the Lord are so much fun, but the reality is you don’t have to be struck by lightning, in the spiritual sense of the word, for your life to be changed; you just need to, in the routine of life, always remember that He is already there in the midst of your need, as your overflowing provision, waiting on you.
