Did you know that Jesus never gets offended? I mean, He never gets offended. Here are some amazing scriptures from 1 Peter 2:22 – 23, “who committed no sin, nor was any deceit found in His mouth; who while being reviled, He did not revile in return; while suffering, He uttered no threats, but kept entrusting Himself to Him who judges righteously.” No matter how offensive the behavior of others towards Jesus, He did not respond with an offended heart. Instead, as the Son of Man, He kept entrusting Himself (His thoughts and His emotions) to the Father who indwelt Him. John 14:10. Jesus did nothing on His own initiative, and in childlike faith, He allowed the Father by the Holy Spirit to live through Him. One of the things that means is He initiated no response to situations or people apart from abiding in the Father. Jesus wasn’t offended by offensive people. He was offended for them because He hated what the devil and sin were doing to them that made them behave the way they did. This is the Christ that lives in you. The next time someone does something that offends you, look to the one who lives in you and hear Him say, “I’m not offended with them. I’m offended for them. Their behavior provokes me to love them even more. Entrust yourself to me and join me in loving them.” This is the way of the cross. This is His way of life and love.
