What is truth? Truth is God’s perspective about all realities. Jesus, and the life that he lived was the perfect perspective of all reality from God’s point of view. Jesus was constantly confronting the lies of the Fall, and then manifesting reality from heavens truth. Jesus saw something bigger than mankind’s brokenness; he saw the healing power of God, and manifested it. He saw beyond human bondage to the powers of darkness, and saw the glorious liberty of the sons of God being established. When Ephesians 6 talks about being girded with the truth, it is talking about girding up the loins of our mind, as 1 Peter 1:13 tells us, which is to simply refuse to entertain any thought about ourselves, or about others, or about any situation that God doesn’t think. When we refuse to tolerate any thought that God doesn’t have about ourselves, others, and circumstances, then we are truly free. That’s what truth does; it sets us free. Jesus is the truth, and what he thinks about everything is the only truth that confronts the lies of the enemy, and in Christ we have His mind; so lose your mind, and slip into the mind of Christ, and enjoy glorious freedom.
