One Thing 6/16/21 Catch the little foxes

Song of Solomon 2:15 NASB95

“Catch the foxes for us, The little foxes that are ruining the vineyards, While our vineyards are in blossom.”

We were created to contain and steward the glory of God. This is both our identity and our destiny, and because we are in Christ and therefore Christ is in us, our hope of glory has been restored. Jesus’s presence within is our restored opportunity to contain and manifest the presence and nature of God. Living in the conscious atmosphere of the glory of God is what we were created for. The word “sin” literally means “to miss the mark,” and the mark is the full experience of the glory.

Whenever God convicts us of sin (that is missing the mark), it is not just so that we can repent, but it is also so that we will learn. God wants us to see the sin for what it is so that the next time it approaches us; we can catch it before it does any damage. God invested His only Son that we might know the abundant life of the new creation. Therefore, He wants us to see sin when it is crouching at the door so we can catch it before it has any entry at all. He wants us to catch the LITTLE foxes (those things that seem to be insignificant to us) at the door of our heart because He knows if we don’t they will come in and create real havoc and will eventually grow into adult foxes that build strongholds.
