Col.2:6 Therefore as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him,
Col.2:9 For in Him all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form, 10 and in Him you have been made complete…
Notice the sequence in Colossians 2. Paul tells that the Christian life is lived the way it began; receiving, by faith, and verses 9-10 tells us that we can simply appropriate (receive) because we already have everything “in Christ.” As uve said before, one of the major differences between Christianity and religion is that religion begins with “demanding,” and Christianilty begins with “bestowing.” Religion says “Do this, and you’ll get that,” but Christianity says, “I give you this, now go do that.” Jesus always empowers us before He employs us.
Now, back to Colossians. In light of the fact that we HAVE BEEN MADE COMPLETE “in Christ, we don’t have to beg and plead; we simply receive (by faith) what we already have “in Christ.” Is it power, anointing, patience, love, peace, joy, the ability to forgive, wisdom, etc. you need in any situation, then don’t beg God for it; simply receive it, since, being in Christ, you already posses it.
How do you RECEIVE by faith? The same way you got saved; you simply Take, and say Thank You. Anytime someone has already done it all, and offers you the free gift of their finished work, you just Take and Say Thank you. That’s the way the Christian life is lived daily, step by step; for just as He did it all, by dying for you, (so you could receive Him to become a Christain) continue to receive all that He is, living in you, (to be the Chistian you’ve become).
