One Thing 5/28/14

1 The Song of Songs, which is Solomon’s.
2 “May he kiss me with the kisses of his mouth!
For your love is better than wine.
3 “Your oils have a pleasing fragrance,
Your name is like purified oil;
Therefore the maidens love you.
4 “Draw me after you and let us run together!
The king has brought me into his chambers.”
“We will rejoice in you and be glad;
We will extol your love more than wine.
Rightly do they love you.”

“Therefore the Hidden Ones love you.” We can only love because He loved, and loves us first. When The Shullamite says, in verse two that His love is better than wine, the word is actually “loves.” His love is so massive and inexplicable that she uses the plural form for the word “love”. Listen in your heart to Ephesians 6:24, “Grace be with all those who love our Lord Jesus Christ with incorruptible love.” Incorruptible means unfading, and uncomprimised. You see the Daughters of Jerusalem are those Christians who love Jesus, but their love fades and rises. It is an up and down love because it is a compromised love. Sadly, they are content with that. The Hidden Ones have chosen to put off corruptible love, longing to love Him with ALL their heart, soul, mind, and strength. It’s not that their love is perfect, but they are always reaching to love Him more. It’s not just a desire, it’s a diligent, and passionate pursuit. Again, they don’t have perfect love (only He does), or a perfect walk, but they have put their heart in perfect position to climb the heights of First Love (2 Chron. 16:9). Notice the decree in Eph.6:24. “Grace to those who love Jesus with an incorruptible love.” Not just the grace of unconditional acceptance, and affection, as wonderful as that is, but the love of favor.
The Daughters of Jerusalem are content with acceptance, and eternal safety, but the Hidden Ones have chosen to press toward the Heights that Isaiah 38:14 speaks of. They daily reach to be a Lovesick Dwelling Place that is so filled with Jesus they begin to experience, and express the Fullness of Him (Eph.1:23, Jn.14:22, Ps.132:1-5,8).
