(Philemon 1) Paul, a prisoner of Christ Jesus……
(Eph. 3:1) For this reason I, Paul, the prisoner of Christ Jesus…..
(Eph. 4 :1) Therefore I, the prisoner of The Lord……
Paul never saw himself as a prisoner of Rome. If he were a prisoner of Rome, that would mean that Rome was in control of his life. Paul makes it really clear that there was only one thing that controlled his life, and that was Jesus Christ. He wasn’t a prisoner to governments, or circumstances, or people and their bad choices. He was a prisoner of Christ, and he knew that everything, and everyone else in his life served God’s purposes for him. The greatest freedom of all is to know that you are a prisoner of Christ. Knowing that sets you free from all anger, anxiety, fear, and resentment.
