Philippians 4:19 AMP
And my God will liberally supply (fill until full) your every need according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.
Notice that the Holy Spirit doesn’t say that our God will supply our every need “out of” His riches. Instead, the Holy Spirit says that God will supply all of our needs “according to” His riches. If I give someone something out of my riches, that means that I’m going to give them a portion of what I have, but if I give to someone according to my riches, then my giving will be in proportion to all that I have. In light of that, let’s look at this verse in a little bit of detail.
It doesn’t say that God might, or could, or may supply all your needs; instead, it says that God “will” liberally supply all of your needs. This verse also doesn’t say that God will supply some of your needs or partially supply your needs. It says that God will liberally supply your “every” need. This verse is a promise that covers a lot of territory and one that we can stand on every step of the way in our walk with the Lord.
How rich is our God? Can any need you have be beyond His riches? So many Christians live their life “just getting by” spiritually, and, therefore, mentally and emotionally. There is no “just getting by” in this verse. The Lord does not want us to simply “make it through” another day. He wants us to live in the enjoyment of His abundant grace that flows out of His limitless rich provision in every life situation we face. You might ask the question, “how do I posture myself to be able to experience this rich provision of God’s favor in my every need?” Well, the truth is the Father has already positioned you. Notice what the last part of that verse says, “according to His riches in glory IN CHRIST.” There it is. Once again, God’s answer for every human need “IN CHRIST.” Because you are in Christ, God’s heavenly supply chain is fully open to you so that in every need you have, you can by faith go ahead and joyfully celebrate all the riches of God that are in Christ flowing to you – flowing in you – one life step at a time.
