Song of Solomon 3:11
NASB-“Go forth, O daughters of Zion, And gaze on King Solomon with the crown With which his mother has crowned him On the day of his wedding, And on the day of his gladness of heart.”
NET BIBLE-Come out, O maidens of Zion, and gaze upon King Solomon! He is wearing the crown with which his mother crowned him on his wedding day, on the most joyous day of his life!
The first stage of human history will be consummated at a wedding. As the Bride of Christ we long for that day. It will be our greatest moment, but it will also be His. I love the NET versions description of His heart. “On the most joyous day of His life.” It will be the “the day of the gladness of His heart.” I believe He will be wearing His crown at our wedding, and will gleefully wear it throughout eternity. I believe it is the crown of our love. I believe His glorious diadem spoken of in Is. 62 is the Crown of Thorns He wore at the Cross. Is. 62 prophesies that we will be a Crown of Beauty in His hand. S.S. 4:10 says, “How beautiful is your love, my sister, bride.” Our love is what He pursued It is what He paid such a price for. The thorns on the crown speak of the worth of our love to Him. Those thorns declare How much He values our love and the price He was willing to pay for our hearts. That crown that won our love, is one of His most precious treasures that He wears on His head on eternities public display.
