One Thing 4/8/15

Song 4:3 “Your lips are like a scarlet thread,

And your mouth is lovely.

Your temples are like a slice of a pomegranate

Behind your veil.

The Temples speak of our thought life behind the veil of the public eye. This is where life is really lived, and where almost all spiritual warfare takes place. Our thought life is so critical to our quality of life in The Lord that Prov. 23:7 says, “For as a man thinks within himself, so is he.” The Lord was speaking to me once about the importance of our thought life, and said, “Garbage in, garbage out.” Pomegranates are red, and have a very sweet red fruit when cut. Of course red speaks of the blood of Christ, but pomegranates themselves are one of the symbolisms in the early church for resurrection. Jewish tradition believe they represent “righteousness,” because they believed the pomegranate had 613 seeds, which corresponds to the 613 commandments of the Torah.  Putting all that together, Jesus is telling us that a life growing in “union with Him,” manifests a crucified and risen thought life, that manifests thoughts of righteousness. To have a “risen, or ascended mind,” is to function with the “mind of Christ.” When we operate with the mind of Christ, we think and see things from our “seated in the Heavenlies” position; not from the “on the ground” position of the flesh. You see, spiritual warfare is the “fiery darts” of fallen thoughts directed at our minds, and our growth in Christlikeness is manifested, in part, by our ability to take EVERY thought captive to the obedience of Christ. In other words, if Jesus doesn’t think it, we can’t afford to. More to come about our risen thought life, because if you can win that battle behind the veil, you will reign in life beyond the veil.
