According to James 3, there are only two kinds of wisdom that operate; that which is earthly, fleshly (unspiritual), and demonic, and the wisdom that comes from above, which is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, unwavering, without hypocrisy.
James 3:13 says that if we are walking in wisdom, our good behavior will be manifested in deeds that carry “the gentleness of wisdom.” Walking in heavenly wisdom will always be reflected in the spirit of gentleness because when you are being governed by the mind of Christ, then anxiety, panic, control, anger, and selfish ambition won’t rule your heart.
“But by the Father’s doing you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God…” The wisdom that comes from above is in the mind of Christ, and 1 Corinthians 2:16 says, “we have the mind of Christ.” Wisdom, like everything else in the Christian life, is part of the total package (which is Christ) that we receive at our new birth. Wisdom is a person that we are in union with, which is why we have His mind the moment we are saved. When facing any situation where wisdom is necessary, we are to “live by the faith of the son of God – Galatians 2:20.” The only question really is, does Jesus have wisdom for your situation? Is He confident in His wisdom for your situation? Since you have the mind of Christ, simply thank Him for His wisdom and then trust that the thoughts that are beginning to infuse your mind are His. Again, the evidence that the mind of Christ (the wisdom from above) is operating in you will always be peace and an attitude of gentleness manifested in the moment.
