2Cor. 12:9 And He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.” Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me.
This is one of my life verses, and has set my course as much as any word. There is so much here, but I want to focus on one particular statement. “My grace is sufficient for you.” What a powerful word! Note, that it doesn’t say might be sufficient, or could be, or should be, or will be if you beg. Paul doesn’t say I sure do hope that His grace is sufficient. Instead, God says my grace IS sufficient. Not WIIL BE, but IS. If something IS then you don’t have to ask for it to be, it already IS. If something IS then it’s a done deal, and you can go ahead, with absolute certainly, give thanks. This is how we walk out the circumstances and situations of life. We face every stress; every temptation restfully certain that His grace IS BEING SUFFICIENT. Tomorrow He will be IS all day long. Don’t worry about tomorrow. You don’t need His grace for tomorrow today. You’ll need it tomorrow, and again, every moment GRACE will be IS, so just enjoy His sufficient grace right now. I’m so thankful that we can live in the joy of SUFFICIENT GRACE right now, knowing that what comes in the future will His adequacy and grace will be IS.
