One Thing 3/23/15

Song 4:2 “Your teeth are like a flock of newly shorn ewes

Which have come up from their washing,

All of which bear twins,

And not one among them has lost her young.

Deut. 8:3 “He humbled you and let you be hungry, and fed you with manna which you did not know, nor did your fathers know, that He might make you understand that man does not live by bread alone, but man lives by everything that proceeds out of the mouth of the LORD.

As Christians, we are wired to hear the voice of the Shepherd. Jesus said in John 10, that “His sheep hear His voiice,” and in Deut. 8, we are told that Man lives by everything that proceeds from the mouth of The Lord. In our New Birth we were given good spiritual teeth to chew His word with. Ez. 1:3 says, that “the word of The Lord came expressly to Ezekiel…” That word, “expressly,” means “fashioned,” therefore when God speaks to us, He speaks His words (for me, usually from The Word) that are “fashioned” just for each one of us, in light of our own unique personality and situation. WE LIVE BY THESE WORDS. They carry the life of The Holy Spirit with them, and none of them fail, if received by faith. This is one of the meanings of the phrase, “and not one of them lost their young.” I’ve heard 1000’s of sermons, and have been given many prophetic words, and God speaks to me through them, but I would have to say that the clearest, and most frequent way God “fashions” a word for me is alone with Him in prayer, with my Bible open, and pen and paper ready. It is the primary way that God speaks to me, and according to 1 Peter 1:4 , it is by these precious and magnificent promise that I partake of His divine nature (LIFE).
