Anything is possible once you believe you are worthy in Christ of achieving it. God loves us with all of His heart, soul, mind, and strength. That never changes, and it has nothing to do with what we do or don’t do. It only depends on Who He is, and in Him there is no variance or shadow of turning. His love for us is only influenced by His thoughts about us.His thoughts, feelings, and love for us is never influenced by what others feel, think, or say about us, even if they are saying those things to Him about us.
It is true that human beings draw their identity from outside of themselves. The most significant people in our lives often have the most impact on who we believe we are. The problem is, that kind of bent-ness toward people is a result of the Fall. Only after the Fall did humans become bent towards each other and look to significant others outside of themselves for their identity. The horror of that bent-ness is that every human being we look to for worth and esteem are also affected by the Fall, and therefore they are extremely broken sources of self-worth. The reality is humans were never intended to be the source of other human beings identity.
We were created to find our identity and worth in God. Yes, we were created to find our identity outside of ourselves, but that significant other is God. It is how He values us, that alone gives us our esteem and self worth. We were created to be codependent on Him but Him alone. In light of that, even our own personal feelings, thoughts, and opinions about ourselves doesn’t influence God either. They certainly don’t reflect His thoughts or feelings about us. Never assume that God feels about you the way you feel about yourself unless you love yourself intensely, freely, and relentlessly. We must abandon false humility and enjoy Him enjoying us
