Ephesians 2:4-6 NASB
[4] But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, [5] even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), [6] and raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,
In the finished work of Christ we were included in his death resurrection and ascension. This happened for you 2000 years ago, but it became your personal experience the moment you received Christ as your personal savior. In light of that, the moment you became a Christian you wete already in a seated position, in the heavenly places in Christ. Your Christian life started from the place of resting. That was true about you before you ever took one step forward in your walk with the Lord. You were already resting in his accomplished work before you ever walked one step spiritually. Our victory moment by moment is not based on what we can do or what we are going to do, or what we could ever do, but it is based on what Christ has already done for us.” Because we are seated, we can in the moment of temptation rest in that fact. It says in Romans chapter 8 that the law of the spirit of life has already set us free from the law of sin and death. That is what you are seated in, so rest in it. We are not called to struggle for victory, but to simply rest back into the victory that has already been won for us. Just think of it; you are already in a place of resting in the victory of Christ, and he accomplished that for you at the cross, and that has been true about you from the moment you got saved, so in the battle just relax, and rest back in the seat ypu are alraedy seated in, in Christ.
