Matthew 9:29
New American Standard Bible (NASB)
29 Then He touched their eyes, saying, “[a]It shall be done to you according to your faith.”
Pretty amazing verse. You realize what that verse says? It’s says that God is acting right now in your life according to your faith. Let’s just take 1Thessalonians 5:24, ” Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.” If He is acting right now in your life according to your faith, then you should be able to identify His activity in your life. Is there a supernatural Christlike quality to your life? Are our lives explicable only in terms of who He is, and what He is capable of? If not, I would say we must not be walking in faith in the areas of our lives He has called us to. What are your callings, you might ask. Well, let me make it simple. Our callings are all those things we are supposed to do in a day; all those relationships that are a part of our lives; and all those little, and big extras Sovereign God allows, and that the Holy Spirit directs us into. Again, as we have said before, faith at its core invokes the activity and ability of God. You don’t wait to see it to believe it. You live believing it, having received it, then you will see it, for God acts according to your faith. If you and I are walking in faith, we should be seeing all kinds of evidence of His activity, and supernatural ability daily in our lives. Go forth today, into your world, rejoicing, by faith, in the power of the Holy Spirit.
Faith is the Spirit’s evidence,
A witness to the soul;
It claims no merits in itself,
But comes to Christ for all.
Its substance is the Lord of life,
The Christian is its home;
It leads the soul to full supplies,
And points out joys to come.
It claims in Christ a legacy,
And helps the child to see;
This faith, dear Saviour, is thy gift,
O give this faith to me.
