Matt. 11:12 “From the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and violent men take it by force.
Yesterday we talked about the violent nature of the Kingdom of God, and God’s passionate demands on us. From our side of things, their is a violent disposition that we must take to possess all that the Kingdom has for us. Everything that we need has already been given us in Christ, but to experience all that we have requires a Holy violence on our part that is willing to pay any price to experience what has been given to us freely. The Kingdom is within reach, it is actually within us, but we must reach out and seize it. The source of this spiritual violence is love, not fear, and there is no price too high for love. Love delights to give what logic says is too expensive. Love abandons all, and still considers that too small a price. With outstretched arms, and ravished hearts, may we take up our Cross everyday in our pursuit of His presence.
