1 Corinthians 14:33 says, that God is not the author of confusion. That word “confusion” actually comes from two words, “against,” and “stability.” When there is confusion, it always brings instability to your spiritual and emotional life. If God doesn’t bring confusion, it must come from the Enemy who, is the father of lies. It’s not a very fun thing to walk around in a state of confusion, feeling unstable on the inside and outside. James 3, talks about two wisdoms; one that comes from above, and one that is earthly, fleshly, and demonic. We are always operating out of one of these wisdoms. If you are in confusion, and internal instability, then you can be assured that you are not functioning from God’s wisdom. Understanding this is the first important step to walking out of it. Confusion, and the resulting emotional instability, comes from ‘stinking thinking,’ and stinking thinking comes from internal dialogues with the demonic. You may think you’ve just been pondering things, but the truth is, you’ve been having a dialogue, not a monologue. It wasn’t just thinking; it was a conversation with the Inventor of lies. He lives in darkness, and everything he communicates is to draw you into the hopeless reality he lives in. The next thing, having recognized the demonic, is to get into the light. Ps.36:9 says, “In His light we see light.” In Him, there is no darkness at all, therefore you must get in His presence, and stay there until the Light of truth, that comes from His mouth, dispels the darkness. You can’t hope darkness away. Darkness only goes away when Light is introduced. As we learn to live perpetually by the words that proceed from His mouth, we won’t be as vulnerable to confusion and instability. The more we hang in His presence, having conversation with Him, the more His words cling to the walls of our conscious.
