John 17:26 and I have made Your name known to them, and will make it known, so that the love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them.”
There are two things in this verse that I feel state the true purpose of our lives. First, that we would love Jesus as much as the Father does, and secondly that we would live in the conscious reality of the indwelling presence of Jesus. Quite simply we are called to be Ravishers and Revealers. As Ravishers, our purpose in life is found daily, even moment by moment loving Him, in moving His heart, through our seeking and beholding His beauty, our adoring surrender and obedience. Our living commitment, lived our practically everyday, to love Him with our abandoned hearts, ravish His. Secondly, we are called to, as our life purpose, to reveal His likeness. We live out of a surrendered love relationship, to trust in Jesus, who lives in us, to live His life through us, sharing His limitless ability, thus revealing His adequacy and likeness. As we in loving obedience surrender to Him, we are are able to rest (trust) in the fact that He will express His life through you, therefore ravishing His heart, and revealing His life. Life for us is stunningly glorious, and remarkably simple. We are Ravishers and Revealers. That is our holy purpose, and our happy privilege.
