One Thing 2/10/15

BACK TO THE SONG OF SOLOMON

Song 3:9 “King Solomon has made for himself a sedan chair
From the timber of Lebanon.
Song 3:10 “He made its posts of silver,
Its back of gold
And its seat of purple fabric,
With its interior lovingly fitted out
By the daughters of Jerusalem.

The victorious Christ has come and placed us in Him, as our sedan chair, leading us safely, and victoriously through this fallen wilderness, to our heavenly wedding. As we’ve seen, this sedan chair has side posts of silver (redemption) that keeps us from ever falling out on the journey. His redemptive power continues along the way, as He perpetually extends forgiveness when we fail, and the promise to restore and overrule for good all things as we come to grips with each failure with a truly repentant heart.
Gold always speaks of deity, and divine activity. The backs of chairs support us, and allows us something to rest against. They take away the strain. In Christ we share His presence, not just with us but also in us. Our support through this wilderness journey is His deity, and divine activity available to us every step of the way. “Thanks be to God who ALWAYS leads us in His triumph in Christ…in every place.”
If you are in Christ (the sedan chair) resting on His ability, and surrendered to His leadership, you will ALWAYS be supported by His divine activity in EVERY PLACE. Every place means EVERY; both the big and the small of your every day life.
