Romans 6:10-11 NASB
[10] For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God. [11] Even so consider yourselves to be dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus.
These are two of my favorite verses, and to anyone who hears me teach very often they can testify that I quote them every chance I get. They are an amazing description of the authentic Christian life, and give a clear declaration of the Christian’s relationship to sin. These are two of the great victorious Christian life verses. At the heart of Christianity is the fact that we have been placed into the life of Christ privileged to participate in the life that Jesus lives to the glory of God. The Christian life put simply is the life that Jesus lives. I did not say that the Christian life is trying to copy, or mimic the life that Jesus lived, but I am saying quite clearly of the Christian life is participating right now, daily, in the life that Jesus is living, and the life that he lives is to the glory of God. In other words, the life that he lives is always revealing the true nature of God. This is the life that we get to experience because we are in Christ. This is what makes Christianity so perfectly marvelous, and remarkably supernatural. Notice what it says in these simple verses; Jesus died to sin once for all, and because you died in Christ, his death to sin is your death to sin because you are in his life, the one who died to sin, and the life that he’s now living to God, is the life is yours to enjoy, because you are in him. In every temptation you can simply declare each time, that because you are in Christ you are dead to sin, and are living to the glory of God. This is the truth about what Jesus accomplished for you in his death burial and resurrection, and is at the core of your identity, and destiny and all the possibilities that are His are yours in the life that Jesus lives through you. Also whenever I face any situation, or ministry opportunity I by faith remember that I am in Christ who is living to the glory of God in that situation or opportunity, through me.
