Isaiah 9:6-7 NASB
[6] For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; And the government will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace. [7] There will be no end to the increase of His government or of peace, On the throne of David and over his kingdom, To establish it and to uphold it with justice and righteousness From then on and forevermore. Heaven is a Kingdom, and the announcement that “the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand” is an announcement that Heaven has come to earth, and to any situation on earth. As the Kingdom of Heaven comes to any situation, peace is released into that moment. The word “peace” here is the word “shalom” which carries the meaning of total well being, physically, spiritually, emotionally, and mentally. Every time we pray “Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in in Heaven,’’ we are asking for the manifestation of Heaven and the rule of Jesus to be revealed. Anytime Heaven manifests on earth the will of God in Heaven is released on the earth. When Jesus declared that the kingdom of Heaven was at hand, He was saying that He carried the reality and the reign of Heaven, and He was there to release it wherever He saw the affects of the kingdom of darkness oppressing a person.
As believers, because we are in Christ, already seated in Heaven, we too, every time we see someone oppressed by the kingdom of darkness, can declare that because we are there, the Kingdom of Heaven is there to be released to overcome and destroy the world of the devil.
