Song 3:9 “King Solomon has made for himself a sedan chair
From the timber of Lebanon.
Song 3:10 “He made its posts of silver,
Its back of gold
And its seat of purple fabric,
With its interior lovingly fitted out
By the daughters of Jerusalem.
Satan is the accuser of the Brethren, and in light of that he is constantly accusing Christians, so that in shame they can’t walk faith.
Joel 2:26 “You will have plenty to eat and be satisfied
And praise the name of the LORD your God,
Who has dealt wondrously with you;
Then My people will never be put to shame.
Zeph. 3:11 “In that day you will feel no shame
Because of all your deeds
By which you have rebelled against Me…..
You can’t be a person of praise if you constantly live with the emotions of shame and regret, but as I mentioned before, He has purchased our entire lives with His blood, and has therefore redeemed it all.
In Christ, my past, present, and future are now all His. It all belongs to Him.
Satan is a liar because he loves to remind us of our past (so we will feel disqualified) when it isn’t our past anymore. He bought it with a high price, and we don’t have the right to look at it as it were ours anymore. It’s impossible to rest in Jesus’ sedan chair (In Christ), enjoying His intimacy, if guilt and shame are our traveling companions. Joel 2 tells us that the people that live a life of praise are those who realize “how wondrously” God has dealt with them. The truth of our Redemption is a wondrous work, that is so absurdly wonderful, we can live a life of celebration, instead of shame.
