Song 3:4 “Scarcely had I left them
When I found him whom my soul loves;
I held on to him and would not let him go
Until I had brought him to my mother’s house,
And into the room of her who conceived me.”
James 1:25 But one who looks intently,…not having become a forgetful hearer but an effectual doer, this man will be blessed in what he does.
Repentance, that’s effectual, always reconnects us to the “Helper” who lives in us. The Holy Spirit is the great gift of The Father to help us live the Christian life. The Holy Spirit makes real in us the very Life of Christ, and releases in us the very power of the Risen Lord Jesus to be able to follow Jesus. Wow! Only God could think up such a plan. In repentance, to bring Jesus back to our Mothers house, is to come back under the overshadowing ministry of The Holy Spirit to live a life of holy responsiveness to Jesus. If, when He called her to rise up to a new place spiritually, she had said the “yes of faith,” and simply taken the first step in the “obedience of faith,” she would have found the Holy Spirit blessing her doing, as James speaks of, with a release of Christlike power released into her experience. When we make the first little step of obedience by faith, The Holy Spirit always empowers us supernaturally to continue. Remember the Jordan was miraculously parted, but only after they put their toes in the water. Don’t wait to feel it; just do it, then you’ll experience it.
