I can do all things through (in) Him who (continuously) strengthens me (through his resurrection life within). – Philippians 4:13
The good news is that as a new creation in Christ, I can do all things through Him. The bad news is that we will never have another legitimate excuse to act like the old creation again. In the life that Jesus lived and the death that He died, Jesus took all of the issues of our old fallen self into Himself and obliterated them. The new creation that you are is in union with the risen life of Christ. Jesus became sin on our behalf. He became all of our issues, and in Him, that person with all kinds of issues was crucified. The resurrection was the evidence that Christ overcame and in Him a whole new victorious you emerged. The great Overcomer of all of our issues, including death itself, now lives His resurrection life through us. Two thousand years before you ever had any issues, He overcame, and the moment you became a Christian, that which was accomplished for you was actualized in you. Christians don’t struggle and fail because of weaknesses, and issues. We fail because of unbelief in the finished work of Christ.
