Song 3:6 “Who is this coming up from the wilderness
Like columns of smoke,
Perfumed with myrrh and frankincense,
With all scented powders of the merchant?
Song 3:7 “Behold, it is the traveling couch of Solomon;
Sixty mighty men around it,
Of the mighty men of Israel.
Song 3:8 “All of them are wielders of the sword,
Expert in war;
Each man has his sword at his side,
Guarding against the terrors of the night.
Jesus victoriously coming in His sedan chair to carry us in victory through the wilderness of this fallen world is such a beautiful of Picture of our being In Christ, and our abiding in Him. Solomon placed the Shulamite in the sedan chair with Him. As the victorious King, and an expert in the kind of warfare experienced in this life on earth, He leads her safely and victoriously on. The Shulamites part was to simply trust His leadership, as She rested on Him. She was called to enjoy His presence, and His adequacy.
Just like the Shulamite, we have been placed in Christ, seated in the Heavenly sedan chair. We are called to rest on His presence, celebrating intimacy with our Bridegroom King; and we are called to trust His leadership one step at a time, as we celebrate Him as our victory. In every situation you come to in this life, you can trust He knows where He is leading, and this situation is no surprise to Him. You can also know that His presence is with you, as your fulness of joy, and you can rest in the fact that He is an “Expert at war.” You may not know how to handle each situation as you come to them, but He is an expert in each one. You see, He has already overcome the world, so you won’t face anything that He isn’t already an expert at dealing with. Wow!!
