Song 2:15 “Catch the foxes for us,
The little foxes that are ruining the vineyards,
While our vineyards are in blossom.”
Song 2:16 “My beloved is mine, and I am his;
He pastures his flock among the lilies.
Song 2:17 “Until the cool of the day when the shadows flee away,
Turn, my beloved, and be like a gazelle
Or a young stag on the mountains of Bether.”
The Hebrew word “Bether” means “separation,” and the challenge from The Lord is that is if we aren’t diligent to catch the Little Foxes that come against on a daily basis it will eventually create a mountain of separation. Remember, the mountain of separation is what Satan is always after. He wants us to compromise in the little things, and ignore them, until we have drifted far from where we were in fruitful fellowship with Jesus. An important spiritual truth is, if you aren’t advancing in your walk with Jesus, you are drifting back.
Heb. 2:1 “For this reason we must pay much closer attention to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away from it.” Again, when you have had a fresh encounter with Jesus, in light of the Holy Spirit calling you to a new and higher place, this is when you can become most vulnerable to the little foxes. If you don’t stay diligent, you could wake up months from now realizing you’ve drifted far from where you were. If you find yourself in that place the devil will try to tell you that you were in a good place in Christ and now you’ve blown it, having lost your chance for The Heights forever. The good news, is that Jesus is able to be like a Gazelle, leaping over those mountains of separation to restore your soul. The Resurrection tells us “ITS NEVER TOO LATE,” for redemption and restoration.
