One Thing 11/10/14

2Chr. 20:12 “O our God, will You not judge them? For we are powerless before this great multitude who are coming against us; nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are on You.”

Have you ever felt powerless in a situation, or temptation. Has the attack ever felt like a “great multitude” was coming against you and it felt overwhelming. Jehoshaphat felt like that in this situation and cried out, “we don’t know what to do.” I have felt like that many times in my walk with Christ, but I’ve learned over the years that behind it all, God is using those kind of moments to teach me to look to Him who is the only dynamic in life’s overwhelming moments that really matters. To practice the presence of Jesus is to continually look on Him, in intimate adoration, and to look to Him in restful anticipation. We must learn to TURN OUR EYES ON HIM, and keep them there.
2Chr. 20:15 and he said, “Listen, all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem and King Jehoshaphat: thus says the LORD to you, ‘Do not fear or be dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours but God’s.
You see, the only question that matters is simply, “Is God BIG ENOUGH for this.” As long as Peter kept his eyes on Jesus, and not the threatening waves, he lived supernaturally and walked on water. You have to get the truth inside of you that all of your battles are HIS TO FIGHT; not yours to fight. Our part is to turn our eyes on Him, restfully anticipating a God given victory. Remember though; it is not His job to tell you HOW He is going to do it, but it is your job to trust in the WHO that has taken up the battle on your behalf.
