Rom. 5:15, But the free gift is not like the transgression. For if by the transgression of the one the many died, much more did the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abound to the many. 16 The gift is not like that which came through the one who sinned; for on the one hand the judgment arose from one transgression resulting in condemnation, but on the other hand the free gift arose from many transgressions resulting in righteousness. 17 For if by the transgression of the one, death reigned through the one, much more those who receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ. 18 So then as through one transgression there resulted condemnation to all men, even so through one act of righteousness into righteousness of life to all men.
2 Cor. 5:21, He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
Righteousness, or holiness is not a thing, or a reward. Righteousness is a gift, and it is the gift of the person Jesus. That’s right, righteousness is a person that is released in us, not a set of principles to be kept by us. Verse 17-18 in Romans 5 says that righteousness is a life that reigns, not a list of rules. We carry the very righteousness of God in us because we are in Christ, and God’s righteousness is more powerful than any temptation that will ever rise up in you. It is time to stop trying to get the victory over sin in your life, and to start appropriating the Victor who is your life. Victory is not something that you have to grow into, it is someone you were born into. Our part is to take, by faith what is already yours, or better said, The WHO that is already yours, and start manifesting His righteousness. When you realize that the righteousness of God Himself is already yours in Christ, you will stop begging and start believing. Just step by step, TAKE and say “THANK YOU.” Everything is summed up in Jesus.
