Psalm 45:10-11 AMPC
Hear, O daughter, consider, submit, and consent to my instruction: forget also your own people and your father’s house; [11] then the king will be enthralled by your beauty; because He is your Lord, be submissive and reverence and honor Him.
Our Lord is enthralled with the beauty of a heart bowed down. Surrender and obedience are the ultimate acts of worship. Mike Bickel said something similar to this, “Our love for God is rooted in the sincere reach to fully surrender and obey.” The Song of Solomon tells us that a single glance from our eyes ravish is the heart of our king. (S.S. 4:10) Let that sink in. One single glance from our eyes in surrendered affection towards Jesus makes His heart beat faster. Can you imagine how a an entire life laid down in surrender before Him, impacts Him? Psalm 45 says that He becomes enthralled by our beauty. Song of Solomon 6:5 puts it this way; “Turn your eyes away from me for they have caused a violent storm within me.” A single moment of surrendered affection ravishes His heart, and the gaze of a surrendered life causes a fierce love sickness to rise up in His heart towards us. When God’s heart is enthralled, His acts become extravagant.
