Did you know that you are standing IN grace, not just ON grace.
Rom.5 :1, “Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom also we have obtained our introduction by faith into this grace in which we stand; and we exult in hope of the glory of God.”
In verse two that little preposition “in” gives us great insight into our relationship to the grace of God. Of course, if you’re in Christ, then you are standing ON the grace of God, but much more, you and I are immersed IN the grace of God. It is much different to be standing on something than it is to be sunk down into something. Also, this is written in the perfect tense, which in the original language that the text was written in, means that something was completed in the past but it has a continual present tense reality, accessibility and impact.
It’s as if the Holy Spirit is saying that we are standing in a Sea of Grace that is endless and shoreless. Think about that. Whatever situation or circumstance you are standing in, the truth is there is a greater reality, and that reality is that you are standing IN grace. His grace has you there, and His grace will be your all sufficiency. You are not just in a battle; more importantly, you are standing IN GRACE.
