One Thing 1/29/26 We Rest In His Worthiness

Colossians 1:19–22
For it was the Father’s good pleasure for all the fullness to dwell in Him, and through Him to reconcile all things to Himself, having made peace through the blood of His cross; through Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven. And although you were formerly alienated and hostile in mind, engaged in evil deeds, yet He has now reconciled you in His fleshly body through death, in order to present you before Him holy and blameless and beyond reproach.

Ephesians 3:11–12
This was in accordance with the eternal purpose which He carried out in Christ Jesus our Lord, in whom we have boldness and confident access through His faith.

Grafted into the sonship of Jesus, we participate in His relationship with the Father. Because of our union with Christ, we have His right standing, and He shares with us His intimate fellowship with the Father and the Holy Spirit. That Colossians passage says that Jesus presents us before the Father, holy and blameless and beyond reproach.

It’s important for you to understand that Jesus doesn’t hold us by the hand and present us to the Father as a separate person. He presents us to the Father in His person, in union with His holiness, His blamelessness, and His position of being beyond reproach. All of us know the passage in Romans 8 that says, there is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. It’s because you are in the person of Christ before the Father that there can be no condemnation, because the Father could never reproach or condemn Jesus. This is the truth about who we are in Christ.

Now you can understand why Ephesians 3:12 says that we have bold and confident access to the Father through the FAITH OF CHRIST. Jesus is very confident and comfortable approaching the Father, and therefore, so can we because we are in Him. It’s not confidence in our worthiness that we rest in. We rest in His worthiness.
