One Thing 1/27/21 What we take, He undertakes

“Catch the foxes for us, the young foxes that are ruining the vineyards, while our vineyards have tender fruit.” Song of Solomon 2:15

Even though Jesus was our victory over sin 2000 years ago at the Cross, we have to take Him as our victory step-by-step in the here and now.

The Hebrew word “catch” in Song of Solomon 2:15 literally means “to take hold of, take possession of.” The breadth of our possessions in Christ, including our victory over the reign of sin in our life is openly declared in Ephesians 1:3, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who HAS blessed us with EVERY spiritual blessing in the heavenly’s in Christ.”

Even though we possess something, it is possible  to not experientially possess our possessions. When it comes to victory over sin on a daily basis, the Holy Spirit will show us the little foxes that are trying to ruin our spiritual vineyard (our own personal fruitful relationship with Jesus). When The Holy Spirit does reveal a sin no matter how little it may seem to us, it is then our responsibility to take hold of the victory that Christ has already won over that sin. How do we do that, you might ask? The same way we do everything else in the Christian life; by faith. What we take by faith in the moment of temptation, He undertakes by enforcing and revealing the victory that He has already won.
