Join the Union May 31, 2011
The Lord is saying that at this time, when so much is at stake, we need to ban the spirit of independence and join the Union. It is time for us to stop disdaining the church and realize that though we have a personal relationship with Jesus, we don’t have an independent relationship with Jesus; we need Him and we need his church. The enemy has separated many people from the body of Christ and the God-given authority of the church because of hurt and abuse and it has caused them to run from one of God’s great gifts to us, which is the body of Jesus.
It is impossible to work out your own salvation in fear and trembling without the fellowship and accountability of those around you who are also working out their own salvation in fear and trembling. When Paul wrote those words, he wrote them to a church, even though they sound to be individual words and personal words. They are personal but they are written to a people whose feet are firmly planted in the body of Christ. It is time to join the Union. It is time to be in union with the body of Christ, with your brothers and sisters. It’s time to live under true accountability. It is time to abandon being in independent territory and become part of the union of the body of Christ, if you are ever going to see God do all He wants to do in your life.
