A few weeks ago, I got this brief prophetic word from the Lord; “If your memories are more powerful than your dreams, then you have fallen into captivity.” We live in a time where many people are asking the question, “Will it ever be as good as it used to be.” I can understand the non-Christian asking that question, but for the believer, the best is always yet to come. The elderly sometimes think about the good old days, but for those of us who are in Christ, we are told that even though our outer man is decaying, our inner man is being renewed day by day. Romans 15:13 says that God is “the God of hope,” and therefore, our expectation should always be bigger than they’ve ever been before. Jesus Christ is on the move. He reigns, and His kingdom is advancing. The world may look like it is falling apart, but when it is all said and done, all things will sum up Jesus. In your own personal life, spiritually, now is the time to let your holy imagination run wild and dream the biggest dreams you’ve ever dreamed. Any other disposition is a deception and has resulted in your own spiritual captivity to your memories. Now’s not the time for pessimism or playing it safe. The Church is about to run wild in a glorious way, for light shines out of darkness, and you will want to be part of it. Remember, God is the God of more, and therefore the best is always yet to come.
