John 13:7 Jesus answered him, “What I am doing you do not understand now, but later you will understand.”
We are called to walk by faith and not by sight. We all, in our humanity, want to see and understand everything. If we could just see it; if we could just understand it, then faith would come so easily. The problem is, God doesn’t always explain Himself, and why He does things the way He does. He rarely, if ever, explains Himself. He wants us to learn to trust Him, especially those times when we don’t understand at all what He is up to. He does promise that “later” we will understand. One day it will all add up. Ephesians says that “all things will sum up Christ.” Everything will add up to His eternal purposes, but until we can understand it, we must trust Him. One day you will understand, and when you do you will fall down and worship Him. Why not go ahead and praise Him now, trusting His heart, goodness, and wisdom. That Beloved is faith.
