Col. 1:18 He also is the Head of [His] body, the church; seeing He is the Beginning, the Firstborn from among the dead, so that He alone in everything and in every respect might occupy the chief place [stand first and be preeminent].
There is nothing more exciting than living in the daily reality of Jesus living His life (carrying out His plan in His power) through you. That is the Normal Christian Life, that is the blood bought inheritance of every Child of God. There is a prerequisite though, that must met before Christ has the freedom to take over. He must be acknowledged as Lord, and sovereign over your life. He is Lord of Lords, and King of Kings, and can only live His life through you as Lord, and King. You are His body, His house that has been bought with a price, and you are no longer your own. He has exclusive rights of ownership over every area of your life. He must be acknowledged as Owner and Lord. The word “LORD” carries the idea of total authority, not shared authority. He is either Lord of all or not Lord at all. That doesn’t mean that you have to get all of your act together first, or that He won’t show you other areas to be surrendered to Him in the future, but it does means that as far as you know, you’ve acknowledged His sovereignty over every area of your life, to do with as He chooses. You don’t get to tell Him want He can have, instead, you acknowledge that He already has it all and you are simply surrendering to that reality. He won’t just live through you in the places you want Him to, while you reserve the right to self govern other areas. He is Lord of All, and will only release His divine activity on that basis. It can truly be said, that you will never experience living through you, the Life of The Lord, unless He is Reigning in you, as The Lord of your Life.
