God didn’t come to kill Humanity; He came to restore Humanity to its original position of nobility and glory. Romans 8 says that we HAVE BEEN glorified. That verse doesn’t say WILL BE, but HAVE BEEN. Of course there is a sense in which we will be glorified, but because of the Incarnation there is the reality of having already been glorified for every believer.
Jesus did come to kill the false, the fallen in all of us, but He also came to restore us to our true nobility as Image Bearers, created to contain, enjoy, and reveal His very life. He came to make all things new, and as New Creations, He restored us to the Old, the original vision of a people who make Him visible. That is a life that is forever original, pulsating with the restored, indwelling life of God.
