Retro One Thing 04/03/2012

Even though facing the suffering and the separation of Good Friday brought Jesus to the extreme internal struggle at Gethsemane, I am convinced that according to John 19 and Heb.12, Jesus was driven by love and joy to the Cross. I believe as He moved moved closer and closer, He was consumed with thoughts about you. You were the joy that was set before, that allowed Him to endure the Cross and despise the shame. He was thinking about you when from the Cross when He cried “I Thirst.” I believe that as the week progressed His heart beat faster and faster, not only because of the daunting things that faced Him, but because “The Day Of The Gladness Of His Heart” ; the day when he would have His Bride was at hand. He joyfully, in the midst of His great suffering, paid the ultimate dowry that you might be His. He recklessly, yet deliberately plunged ahead with the Mad plan that cost Him everything, that He might, to Him, win everything.

Who are you, that you would cause the Great Prince to act so foolishly? He allowed Himself to be so ridiculously humiliated and brutalized by those who were born to serve Him. Who are you? You must be the most glorious and ravishing creature that has ever existed.

“How beautiful you are, my darling, How beautiful you are! How beautiful you are, my darling, How beautiful you are.” “You are altogether beautiful, my darling, And there is no blemish in you.” “How beautiful and how delightful you are, My love, with all your charms!”

I guess these verses in the Song of Solomon, written by the Lovesick Prince, explains it all. Oh, to be loved like that. You must not only be the most ravishing creature that ever lived, but also the happiest one who ever lived.

Have a great day being the object of His Passion.
