Galatians 2:20 (NASB)
20 I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and [a]the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.
Can you imagine what your day would be like if Jesus could zip Himself up in your humanity and live His life through your own unique personality? Well, you don’t have to just imagine it, you can live it. That is the the normal Christian life that God intends for every believer to live? The possibilities are limitless, for His ability and creativity is limitless. Before I discovered Him as my very life, I lived everyday, though a Christian, full of paralyzing fear and self consciousness. When I say fear, I mean fear of everything and everybody. It was so liberating to have a New Self consciousness that was lost in union with Him and all He is. The immediate sense of adventure was exhilarating and still is. Life became alive. I had been Born Again for two years, but now I felt like a New Creation, not just the forgiven old Chuck. I wasn’t afraid anymore. Oh, I got tempted to be afraid but I didn’t have to give into it, because after all what would I ever face again that He who conquered death and now LIVED in me wasn’t Big enough for. I finally knew what it meant to be Saved; not just from Hell, but from the hell of my broken, fallen self. I didn’t have to wait to go to Heaven to experience Heaven. I can honestly say, “Heaven came down and glory filled my soul.” I so long for each of you to know in your own life what I am talking about. After 40+ years it just gets better and better.
