2Cor. 6:12 You are not restricted by us, but you are restricted in your own affections.
God’s vision for who we are, and what we are called to walk in is mind-blowing. Listen to what Paul says about our potential, “Eph. 3:19 and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.” God wouldn’t offer us something if it weren’t possible for us to experience it. What He offers; what He sees us called to, is “being filled with the fullness of God.” Verses like this one so motivates me to cry out to God, and to pay whatever price necessary to position myself to walk in this “LARGE” place in The Lord. The biggest battle that we fight in experiencing ALL that is ours in Christ isn’t with the devil, instead it is the restrictions in our own affections. Now, for sure, the devil has certainly played a role in deceiving us to have restricted desires for all that God has, but ultimately it is on us. Colossians 3:2 tells us to set our affections on things above. We have a desperate need to raise our level of longing. You will never seek those things that are above until you set your affections on them. Ask The Holy Spirit to enlarge your affections. Ask Him to make you have a Heaven sized hunger to experience the things of Heaven without measure, while you are still on Earth.
