One Thing 8/13/13

Rev. 8:3 ¶ Another angel came and stood at the altar, holding a golden censer; and much incense was given to him, so that he might add it to the prayers of all the saints on the golden altar which was before the throne.
Rev. 8:4 And the smoke of the incense, with the prayers of the saints, went up before God out of the angel’s hand.
Song 2:14 ¶ “O my dove, in the clefts of the rock,
In the secret place of the steep pathway,
Let me see your form,
Let me hear your voice;
For your voice is sweet,
And your form is lovely.”
Zech. 2:13 ¶ “Be silent, all flesh, before the LORD; for He is aroused from His holy habitation.”

It is so encouraging to discover how much God loves just the sound of your voice, even if that weak sound comes from a fallen place of desperation. He says our voice is “sweet.” That word means “great pleasure.” Just think, God isn’t condemning you for not praying more, though He longs for you to pray, instead, if you are one of the “All,” He simply finds great pleasure in your voice. As I mentioned yesterday, more than mere pleasure, His heart is stirred and aroused by the sound of your prayers, no matter how feeble they may be. The other amazing thing these verses tell us is that not only is His great heart and personality sensationally aroused at the sound of your voice, with lightening, and peals of thunder emanating from Him, but also His aroused heart is moved to action on behalf of human history. The coals of fire from the altar of His burning heart are added to your simple prayers and are cast down to the earth with the power of the lightening and thunder of His stirred passion, and causes spiritual earthquakes, which of course causes all kinds of shits in the natural affairs of mankind. Earthquakes change the landscape, and prayers cast down to earth change the landscape of human history to come in line with the purposes of God. Think about what I’ve just said, and what these verses indicate; God chooses to administrate and govern the affairs of human history in time and eternity, in partnership with weak, frail people who simply talk to Him. Even the sound of your voice in adoration, praise, and worship (maybe even more so at those times) God’s blessed and ravished heart is moved to act on the world scene, just because He heard your voice. Your significance to Him is beyond imagination. Not only are you His great Beauty, personally, but you are His chosen partner to govern. Love Him as His Bride. Live for Him as His Body.
